The steps it takes to renovate a living room, bathroom, bedroom, parlor or hallway are pretty much the same. Check the following 3 tips below to guide you through:
1- Visualize your ideal room:
Take some time to think about what you want this room to be and browse through Interior Design magazines to get inspired. Pull out the pictures you like and spread them in front of you on a table to get an overall picture.
2- De clutter:
It is almost impossible to remodel a room if you can’t even walk through it. Make sure to not only clean and tidy up but also eliminate items that are no longer wanted, that you don’t use on a regular basis and that do not reflect who you are any longer. Most of us usually only wear 10% of the clothes in our closets.
3- Modify, replace and add:
Once you have defined an overall color scheme for the room, you can paint walls. They usually create a huge effect and change the feeling of the room. Create focus point items with new objects, such as bed sets and blankets to match the wall colors. Accessorize your room with new items or furniture such as potted plants, rugs or wall murals to give your room the exact feel you want.
In the end, step back and look at your hard work. You created an environment that welcomes you, an atmosphere that is happy and surroundings that enlighten and support you.
